GUIDANCE NOTES FOR COMPLETION

INTRODUCTION

Thank you for expressing interesting to work for our Chamber.

This application form has been designed to help you provide all of the necessary information we need to aid our selection process in assessing your suitability for the role you are applying for.

It is important that the application form is completed in full and that the information you provide about yourself is correct. Please ensure that the dates of your previous employment/study and details of your qualifications are accurate.

If you are found to have provided false information or omit relevant information your application may be disqualified or your contract terminated if you have been employed.

You can complete the application form online through our web-based portal at www.birmingham-chamber.com or alternatively you can print off a copy and complete by hand.  If you are handwriting your application form please ensure it is legible.

Please note that a CV will not be accepted as a substitute for your application.

The accompanying notes are provided as guidance for completion of this form.


DATA PROTECTION ACT 1998 – CONSENT & CERTIFICATION OF DETAILS

The information provided in this application form may be used by the Chamber in the monitoring of our Recruitment practice and in particular our Equal Opportunities Policy.

Monitoring of your application is for statistical purposes only and you will not therefore be identifiable.  In addition, your personal details will not be disclosed to any third party other than for the purpose of prevention and detection fraud and crime.

Application forms of unsuccessful candidates will be destroyed after 1 year from the date of appointment.

Please ensure all parts of the Personal Information section are complete.  Please note that the Chamber’s retirement age is 65. 

It is important that you also notify us whether or not you are eligible to work in the UK and are not subject to employment of learning restrictions and/or to a time limit on your stay. 

You are also required to advise us of any criminal convictions not regarded as spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

As we may be recruiting for several positions at the time you are applying, please ensure that you complete the Vacancy Details section include the job title, job reference number if applicable and where you saw the position advertised, as this enables us to monitoring our response from various sources of advertising
